Where Are You on the Coaching Continuum?

February 21, 2025

Hi Team,

Great leaders don’t just solve problems—they help others learn to solve them. That’s what coaching is all about. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and slide into directing more than coaching. When we do, we miss the opportunity to help our teams grow into stronger, more confident decision-makers.

Using the Coaching Continuum

We all move along the Coaching Continuum—sometimes we need to step in and provide direction, other times we need to take a step back and guide. If you’re answering more than you’re asking, it might be time to shift into coaching—giving your team the chance to Own It and work through solutions themselves.

Reflection & Action

💭 Reflection: Take a minute to think about where you’ve been spending most of your time on the Coaching Continuum. Are you coaching enough, or are you jumping in with answers too often?

Action: Print the Coaching Continuum and keep it visible in your workspace. Use a pin or marker to track where you’re spending your time this week. Notice any patterns? Where can you adjust?

Small shifts in how you coach can make a big impact. Notice where you are, adjust as needed, and watch your team grow.

Store #212 Volunteering in Surf City!

Store #212 recently volunteered at a local Health and Fitness Expo, where they had the chance to connect with the local community. Local shoppers were delighted to see the team there handing out Sprouts Brand products. Their booth had 40-60 people waiting throughout the event – and they even ran out of product before the event was over!

They also volunteered at the Surf City Marathon, where over 18,000 runners participated in various races. It was a great opportunity to be involved in an event that celebrates fitness and community!

Great job, Store #212!

Community Corner: Team Members Volunteer at MLK Fest

This year, in honor of MLK Day of Service on January 20, SOUL @ Sprouts partnered with the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation and The Walls Project for three day of service events in Dallas, TX, Baton Rouge, LA and Aurora CO.

Over the past weekend, Sprouts team members engaged in several impactful volunteer events like multiple mural restorations, bringing vibrant colors back to life in the community.

Our team also took part in community clean-ups, tree planting, and garden refurbishments, ensuring greener and more welcoming spaces for everyone. Additionally, they painted garden entryways, adding a touch of charm and warmth.

To top it off, Sprouts volunteers facilitated taste testing of healthy fruits and veggies, promoting nutritious choices in a fun and engaging way. Together, we celebrated the spirit of service and community that MLK Day inspires!

A special thanks to all team members who participated in this impactful event!

Kicking Off 2025 with Purpose and Focus

January 22, 2025

Happy New Year!

As we begin a new year, it’s a good time to reflect, reset, and plan how we’ll work together to fulfill our purpose of helping people live and eat better. We will continue to strengthen our culture by focusing on:

  • Living our purpose through our actions and decisions, from leadership to daily interactions.
  • Strengthening coaching and feedback, by sharing recognition, providing support for decision making and problem solving and supporting development.
  • Fostering an inclusive culture, by creating an environment where we work together and respect and celebrate what makes each person special.

Our upcoming culture survey will provide an opportunity to share your voice. From previous feedback, we know two areas where we can continue to improve:

  1. Helping everyone feel valued for their contributions.
  2. Standing up for what’s right, fostering accountability and trust.

Your input will guide us in ensuring Sprouts is the best place to work, and where our values of Own It, Value Being Different, and Care shine through in everything we do.

Action & Reflection: To support these priorities, take a moment this week to reflect on how you can make an impact:

  • How do I want to show up in helping people live and eat better?
  • How can I create a more inclusive environment at Sprouts?

Your commitment will help us thrive in 2025. Let’s make this our best year yet at Sprouts!
