Hello Sprouts Team –
It’s that time again! Let’s take a step back from our day and think about the concept of change for a moment. Change is all around us and it happens at a fast pace in the retail environment. Leaders who manage change well are often the most successful, and how they show up in times of change is critical.
Leading Self – Leadership Shadow:
Think about a recent change that happened at work.
– What shadow did you cast?
– What went well?
– What was one thing you could have done differently to be even more effective?
Leading Team – Possibility Thinking:
Use an open and creative mindset with a willingness to possibilities everywhere instead of limitations.
In your next team meeting or huddle, consider using the meeting starter to generate new ideas. Try it out and let me know what happens!
Start the meeting by sharing some of the important tasks that need to be addressed by the team today. Ask: “In this work, what do we need to be more open and curious about?” or “What ideas do you have to make this work a success?”
Example: Consider sharing the OSAT goal for the week along with where you would like to see the results. Ask the team for their ideas to implement to reach the goal
– Notice what works and congratulate the team
– Share appreciation and reinforce things you see that lead to success
– Ask the team in the next huddle what worked well and what other ideas they have as the week progresses
