Hello Team –
I hope Back to School is shaping up nicely in your stores and cheers to everyone who has kids heading back to school this month. Over the last few reinforcement messages, we’ve been focused leading change in addition to your Development, which is directly tied to our values of Care and Own It.
Team member development is critical to Sprouts. It is important that you continue to grow as a leader, in your position and upwards as we scale for more growth at Sprouts! Your success is a key factor in Sprouts success. I am excited to share the resources you now have available located on the Vine and in The Orchard.
Competencies
Use the Sprouts Leadership Model and Competency Guide for guidance to develop yourself, lead others, and manage the business. Each role-specific guide includes competencies with key actions and behaviors, IDP examples, and development and leadership resources. These competencies should be part of our language at Sprouts as we support development of our teams.

Development
You own your development! Be sure to:
- work towards your identified individual development (IDP) goals.
- seek feedback and support during regular development check-ins or 1:1s.
- update your development goals with accomplishments or add new goals, as needed.
You may have participated in Development Week last month, a competency-focused fair where attendees could ask questions, participate in coaching sessions, and find needed resources – it was inspiring!
Development Week was one way Sprouts shows Care: by sharing focused time and information with you. If you weren’t able to attend, please take some time to review the resource guides, which may help develop your own Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Find these guides under Competency Development Resources on the Vine. When you’re on the homepage of the Vine, be sure to look for the Coaching & Development tab at the top.
The Orchard
The Orchard is yet another exciting tool for you to use every day to help you learn and grow. As you know Sprouts recently launched the Orchard and it’s another way Sprouts has invested in your development. Log in every day and take a bite out of Learning!
As we continue to build resources for you, make sure to take the time you deserve for your own development. Look for ways to support your peers and those that report into you if you are a people leader. I look forward to hearing about what is working and what you need to make the most of your career at Sprouts.
