Good Food. Good People. Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes – July 29, 2020

To celebrate #TeamSprouts, we’re highlighting our Distribution Center team members in Glendale, AZ, for their hard work and dedication in supporting our stores.

In these fast-paced and uncertain times, our Glendale DC team members have been some of our amazing everyday heroes! The Glendale team is collectively responsible for ensuring produce, floral, and select bulk items reach our stores on time and at the pinnacle of freshness, quality, and flavor.

As a 24/7 operation, the DC team works around the clock to receive inventory, check product quality, and pick and ship well over 300,000 cases every week! Our Glendale DC supports over 100 Sprouts stores across Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and El Paso. “The team has worked tirelessly over these last several months keeping our stores filled with fresh produce and ensuring healthy food options make it into the baskets of families across the country shopping in our stores,” Sabina Jadda, Supply Chain Training Supervisor, said.

On behalf of the leadership team, we’d like to send a special and heartfelt thank you to each DC team member for all of their hard work, passion, and dedication during these difficult times—and every single day!

Good Food. Good People. Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes – July 22, 2020

To celebrate #TeamSprouts, we’re highlighting how Chris Pagnini, Assistant Store Manager at store #29 – Scottsdale, AZ, created an inclusive shopping environment for individuals and families with special needs by purchasing a Caroline’s Cart.

Caroline’s Cart was created to accommodate people with special needs, allowing their caregiver a viable option to move them through a store while shopping, without the difficult task of maneuvering a wheelchair and a traditional shopping cart at the same time.

When Tom Critz, previous Store Manager at store #29, received the request to have a Caroline’s Cart in the store from a family wanting to accommodate their son who has special needs, it was an easy decision to make. “We received the request from a mother named Jenny. Her son has special needs and could no longer fit into a regular cart,” Chris said.

After the decision was made to purchase the cart, ASM Chris contacted Jenny to share the good news, “She was so excited and said this would make grocery shopping a lot easier for her and her husband. Having the cart in store allows their son to participate with the family while shopping!”

Jenny and her family went to the store the day after the cart arrived and were so excited to see it. The family shared their gratitude with a hand-made thank-you card from their son. “They brought us a thank-you card along with some art their son made for us. Their son was smiling and waving at our team. The event was very touching for us all,” Chris said.

Since the cart arrived, it’s been used by Jenny’s family and many others, “This was an important purchase. We have shoppers who need the extra assistance, and this young man also could use it. It allowed shoppers another option in getting those with a mobility issue around the store in a safe and convenient manner,” Chris said.

Good Food. Good People. Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes! – July 8, 2020

To celebrate #TeamSprouts, we’re highlighting Rachel Maddy, Retail Clerk at store #114 – Fort Worth, TX, for encouraging the community through inspirational messages in the store.

Small acts of kindness can go a long way right now. Saying a simple “Thanks” is one of the easiest things you can do! Showing gratitude and uplifting the community comes easy for Rachel, through her inspirational drawings posted on the store’s front windows. “I was inspired by many quotes that have made me feel uplifted in difficult times,” Rachel said.

Her drawings are colorful, grabbing the attention of everyone who walks through the door. Some drawings sing praise to other frontline heroes like doctors, nurses, and first responders; others bring strength and encouragement to the Fort Worth community. Rachel shared why it was important for her to motivate the community through art: “Art is one of my passions, so if there is any way to use it for good, I’ll do so!”

Together, we can make a difference, big or small. Rachel and the team at store #114 have helped others find optimism in an otherwise challenging time. “We’ve had some very positive feedback. When customers stop to read them, it instantly brings a smile to their face. They’ve even said the drawings brought them joy,” Leslie Rios, Service Manager, said.
